| Are
you ready to put yourself on the web? Many of our Internet access
plans have web space to use for personal web sites or for backing
up and storing information from your computer. Using widely available
web design tools, you can create a web site all about yourself,
family, and friends and have it available online 24 hours a day
so that all the world may see it.
To access your
personal web space you will need to use an File Transfer Protocol
(FTP) client program such as CuteFTP
from Globalscape or Fetch
from Fetch Softworks. Although there are many FTP client programs
available, the basic configuration of each is similar. Use the following
information to configure your FTP client to access your personal
web space:
| FTP
Client Configuration |
- Server:
www.tnni.net
- Path:
/web
- Login:
your Terranovus.net user name
- Password:
your Terranovus.net password
|
Once you have
uploaded your personal web site, you may access it by typing in
the following address:
http://www.tnni.net/~username
You do not need
to be a Terranovus.net member to view your web site. Any user on
the internet can access your site. When creating your personal web
site be sure to name the first page index.html. If
you do not name it index.html then you will have to add the file
name to your web site address. For example if the first page on
your site was named "main.html", your web address would
be http://www.tnni.net/~username/main.html.
Have fun and
be creative!
Personal Web
Space is for noncommercial use only. Please visit our web
hosting pages for information on commercial web hosting plans.
Basic Plan subscribers do not have any personal web space allotted
to them.
