Are there any fees or minimum usage requirements to get the low long distance rate?
 
If your monthly usage is less than $20, you will be billed a $1.99 monthly fee if you have chosen to have invoices mailed to you. If you chose Autopay or your usage is greater than $20 this fee will be waived.
   
Do I have to have Internet service through Terranovus to qualify for Terra-Dial long distance?
  Terranovus.net offers great Internet service at a very low price. We would love to have you as an Internet customer, but it is not required to have Internet service through Terranovus.net to receive our low Terra-Dial long distance rates.
   
Do I have to sign a long term contract to qualify for the low rate?
  There are no long term contracts required.
   
Are my calling times restricted to certain hours in order to receive the low rate?
  Unlike many discounted long distance plans which limit you to late night or weekend hours, Terra-Dial is always 3.9¢ day and night, 7 days a week.
   
Do you have any special long distance plans for my business?
  Terra-Dial long distance can be obtained for businesses at the same low rate of 3.9¢. No long term contracts or volume commitments are required.
   
How long will it take to switch to Terra-Dial?
  This varies and is primarily based on how long your local phone company takes to process the change order. The average time is 5 business days, but in some areas it may take as little as 2 days.
   
What is the process of events after I have placed my order?
  Your account will be verified either over the phone by an automated system or by e-mail. This is a necessary requirement to meet FCC guidelines and verification by phone is required in the states of CA and SD. Once your account is verified, it will be credit approved and assuming all is well, submitted to the underlying carrier to make the final switch. In certain cases where there is a pic freeze, you may be required to call your local carrier in order to switch your lines to the underlying carrier for Terra-Dial.
   
How can I tell if my long distance service has been switched?
  You can dial 1-700-555-4141 and a recording will announce who your long distance carrier is.

What is a PIC freeze?
  This is when a customer makes arrangements with their local exchange carrier (local telephone company) to prevent unauthorized changing of their long distance telephone carrier (oral or written). This feature is free of charge and most of the customers don't know that they have it, which may cause the long distance order to be delayed up to several weeks. If you are unsure whether you have it or not, we strongly recommend you to contact your local phone company and check. If you do have a PIC freeze on your line, please remove it before submitting the long distance order.
   
Does Terranovus.net also offer calling cards?
  Calling card is included in your long distance service at no extra cost. You can obtain your calling card PIN and view the rates by using your Administration Web Page. There is no additional surcharge for calls originated from US (including AK and HI). Additional 35¢ per call surcharge applies for calls originating from pay-phones, and 75¢ per call for directory assisted calls.
   
Do I have different billing options?
 

We offer three billing options:

  • Direct Bill - Receive a paper invoice each month and pay by check or money order.
  • Direct Bill PLUS - Receive a paper invoice each month and pay by credit card.
  • Autopay - You will be able to view, download, and pay your bill with a credit card completely online. Monthly Fee Waived for Auto Pay Customers!!

You can choose autopay credit card payment option, or pay by check after receiving the invoice. You can also view your invoice online, or choose a printed copy to be mailed to you. (Additional $1.99 billing fee may apply for printed invoice if your monthly usage is under $20, otherwise this fee will be waived).

   
How is the line quality?
  Terra-Dial uses one of the nation's largest interstate carriers with complete fiberoptic networks that provide the crystal clear connection - actually one of the best in US.
   
Do you offer toll free 1-800 numbers?
  Yes we offer toll free 800/888/877/866 service for the same low rate per minute for incoming calls. You can do it during the signup process or after your account is created. You will be able to order toll free service and calling cards through your secure online account access web site. The monthly service charge for each toll free number is $1.50 for each toll free number.
   
Are there any hidden fees or taxes?
 

Terra-Dial has no monthly billing fees for all Autopay customers. A fee of $1.99 is charged when your bill is under $20.00 for all non-Autopay customers. Auto-pay customers with a total charge less than $1.00 will not be charged via credit/debit card and will be required to mail in thier payment.

Completed switched calls are billed in 6-second increments, with a one-minute minimum. One Plus calls are billed in 6-second increments with a minimum of 6 seconds or 18 seconds depending on the service. One Plus international calls are billed in 6 second increments with a minimum of 30 or 60 seconds depending on the service. Call charges that compute to less than one cent will be rounded up to the nearest cent. Toll free calls are billed in the same manner as One Plus calls for that service.

There are no monthly fees or hidden costs. However, there are two taxes that we are required by law to charge. The first is a 3% Federal Excise Tax charged to US residents only. This is based on the monthly invoiced amount. For more information please read IRS TAX FORM 720. The second is a 8.7% Universal Service Fund Tax charged to all US resident telecommunications customers. This is based on the monthly invoiced amount. Federal Excise Taxes are collected by us and passed on to our good friends at the United States Internal Revenue Service... Universal Service Fund Taxes are collected by us and passed on to our other friends at the Universal Service Administration ( Part of the FCC ).

   
How can I add more lines to my account?
  You can add up to 50 lines during the signup process, or after your account is created you can have additional lines added to your account through your secure online account access web site.
   
Am I protected by law from unauthorized phone line switching?
  The phone line you enter must be an existing phone line for which your name or company name appears on your phone bill. Federal government imposed fine for knowingly trying to Slam or switch a phone line without proper authorization can be up to $25,000 per line. Please be sure to enter only your own phone lines.
   
What is third party verification?
  In the last few years there have been many cases of telephone customers having their Interstate Carrier changed without the customer's authorization. Because of these abuses, a Federal regulation was created that requires a customer to provide a written authorization or verify their desire to switch their carrier through a third party. Third Party Verification (TPV) is required whenever a telephone customer switches their Interstate Carrier. Terra-Dial uses VoiceLog, an authorized TPV vendor to perform our verifications. We cannot switch your lines until we receive a Voicelog TPV confirmation, or a written Letter of Authorization (LOA) form directly from the customer.
